Use Binoculars to spot new locations.
In Steep, every mountain is your playground. If you want to reach the most remote mountain locations and carve a unique and unforgettable line, then the Explorer playstyle is for you. If you’re ready for the adventure, here are some tips to get you started.
The Binoculars are the easiest way begin your exploration. Spot new drops zones and other points of interest with your trusty binoculars. Try finding hard-to-reach and daring locations to start a wicked line and challenge your friends to do the same. You can also zoom in to get a better look and plan your next move. If you’re close enough to a drop zone, you can unlock it just by looking at it. Once unlocked, you can start your next run from that location.
Ski and snowboard your way through forests.
If the binoculars aren’t enough, you’ll have to get closer. Walking is a fundamental part of exploration and will get you into new territory. Still, with elevations reaching over 15,000 feet above sea level, walking won’t be your only way to explore the Alps.
Combine all of Steep’s four Sports to master exploration. Skiing and Snowboarding will get you down any mountain in style. If you’re looking to wave your way into a thicket of trees, carving a line on the ground might be safer than exploring by flying headfirst through the branches.
Speed down the mountain in the wingsuit.
Alternatively, if speed is your priority, try the Wingsuit. You will never find a faster path down a mountain than soaring through the air like a bird. Swoop through narrow corridors and over forests and get off the beaten path. Just remember to pull your parachute for a graceful landing. If you’re up for the challenge, you can also unlock new drop zones by rocketing past them in dangerously close proximity. With the Wingsuit, you can unlock new Drop Zones, Mountain Stories, and Challenges without ever touching the ground.
Enjoy the view while paragliding to your next adventure.
If you want to reach higher ground and enjoy a gorgeous view, try Paragliding your way to new heights. Paragliding explorers have the unique ability to gain significant altitude. By flying close to the side of a mountain face, you can catch the rising updrafts that will push you higher and higher. A red arrow will indicate the direction and strength of your elevation. Ride alongside slopes, cliffs, and obstacles to reach places you would never reach otherwise.
Remember, you can change sports whenever you want. When you get to the top, you’re welcome to find your own way down. Just remember to take in the view. Steep lets you play any way you like. So how will you carve your line?[1]
